Course Details:
- Due to a lack of qualified instructors this year, JWC Sailing Club will instead be running an informal instruction week to instruct the youth in the basics of safety and sailing as well as demonstration and practical experience.
- There will be opportunities for the youths to have individual assistance from the experienced dinghy sailors. It is expected that by the end of the week the youngsters will learnt some terminology, and have experienced capsize recovery; rigged and launched a dinghy; sailed a course and successfully recovered to the boat house!
- All children must be willing participants, able to swim 25m in wet clothing, prepared to get wet at some stage and, of course, ready to have fun.
- To protect the Sailing Club, we have been advised that parents should be on-site for the duration of the course. Parents remain entirely responsible for their children both on the water and whilst ashore.
- If interested, please fill out the course registration and send it in an email to Wayne Ubhi ([email protected]) & Charles-Francois Farbos ([email protected]).
- If you have any additional questions, you can of course contact any of the email addresses listed above.
